GALLERY|Pistyll Rhaeadr, 2008

Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall is located just inside Wales in Powys county, twelve miles west of Oswestry. The water comes from the streams and bog moors of the Berwyn Mountains, descending in three stages over a 240-foot cliff face, of which the tallest stage is about 120 feet. The falls are known as one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and constitute a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Access to the falls is free of charge and the top can be reached by a public footpath in about 20 minutes. Many people use this spot as the beginning of substantial walks in the Berwyns. It is also an excellent place for photography at any season of the year.
